Thomas Eugene Crosslin, Sr.

Thomas Eugene Crosslin, Sr., 79, of Sparta, passed away on Friday July 29, 2011 at home.

Mr. Crosslin was born in Sparta, TN on August 19, 1931 and graduated from White County High School in 1949. He was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church. Mr. Crosslin returned to Sparta after serving at Keesler AFB in Biloxi, MS to work in a number of businesses over the years. He loved his hometown and worked diligently to restore the train depot as well as build rental property and warehouses that brought businesses and industry to White County.

He was preceded in death by his parents, R. L. & Louverna Crosslin: his wife of 55 years, Noelie Dick Crosslin: a son, James Robert (Jim) Crosslin and a grandchild: Baby Floyd.

Survivors include a son, Thomas E. Crosslin, Jr. (Karen) of Sparta: daughter, Karen Crosslin Coriell (Gavin) of Lebanon: devoted caregiver who became a daughter, Carolyn Carter of Sparta: six grandchildren, Dr. Thomas Eugene Crosslin, III (Ursula) of Stoneham, MA.: Laura Annmarie Joyce (Michael) of Nashville: Adam Breland Crosslin (Lauren) of Cookeville: 2nd Lt. Jason Collin Floyd, USMC (Chase) of Hubert, NC.: Allison Crosslin O'Dell (Justin) of Sparta: and Nicholas Evan Floyd of Lebanon: three bonus grandchildren: Jennifer Coriell Maloon, Andrew Gavin Coriell, and Elizabeth Louanne Coriell all of Delaware, OH.: two great-grandchildren, Aurelia Grace Crosslin of Stoneham, MA and Milo Jude Crosslin of Cookeville: two bonus great-grandchildren, Maryn Elise Maloon and Jack Creighton Maloon of Delaware, OH and brother, Robert Lynn Crosslin (Joyce) of Sparta.

Visitation will be held at St. Andrews Catholic Church 829 Valley View Drive in Sparta Friday August 19 from 4 until 9 PM and Saturday August 20 from 9 AM until 2 PM.

A funeral mass followed by a celebration of life will be held at St. Andrews on Saturday September 3 at 11:00 AM with visitation prior to the service. Fr. John Pantuso, SDS and Gavin Coriell, M.S.Ed will officiate.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the James Robert Crosslin Scholarship Fund at St. Stanislaus, 304 S. Beach Blvd., Bay St. Louis, MS 39520, White County Public Library or The American Cancer Society.
