Sara Kathlene "Kathy" Hutson, cherished daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2026, in Cookeville. Born on January 20, 1964, in Sparta, she graced the lives of many with her kindness, gentle spirit, and steadfast love for her family and friends.
Kathy’s life was marked by her unwavering devotion to those around her. She was the loving daughter of Marvin Hutson and Tina Ann Hutson, both of whom preceded her in death. From an early age, Kathy cultivated lifelong bonds with her siblings, and her presence within the family was a source of joy, humor, and support.
She is survived by her sisters, Darlene Bailey and Lisa Hutson, who will forever hold dear the memories of their time together. Kathy was a beloved aunt to Albert Hutson, Brittany Hutson, Thomas Clark, Kayla Clark, and Jackie (Heather) Brown, each of whom benefitted from her guidance and warmth over the years. Her extended family also includes her aunts Margaret Bouton, Neta Crosswhite, and Fannie Lou Jones, her cousin Ronnie Lynn whose loyalty and companionship enriched Kathy’s days, and loved ones Axton Dashnaw, Hennessee Dashnaw, Maddison Chadwick, Damion Chadwick, Braxton, Abigail, Alayna, Bolton, Payten. She shared a special friendship with Vickie Brown.
Throughout her journey, Kathy also mourned the loss of those she held close: her brother Kenneth Hutson; her aunts Gladys Phy and Eunetta Lewis; her nephew Ken Hutson; her niece Sydney Wright, and cousin, Eric Cleghorn. Their memories lived on in her heart, shaping her empathy and her care for others.
Known for her resilience and compassion, Kathy found fulfillment and meaning in the relationships she nurtured. Whether spending time with family during holidays, lending a listening ear to loved ones, or imparting her wisdom to nieces, nephews, and friends, she modeled kindness and dedication in every interaction. Her generosity extended not only to relatives but to all who crossed her path.
As the community reflects on Kathy’s life, she will be remembered not just for the milestones she reached, but for the integrity and grace with which she lived every day. She exemplified the best qualities of humanity—gentleness, patience, and an embrace of life’s simple joys.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at a memorial service honoring Kathy’s life, to be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM service starting at 4:00 p.m. Bro. Jason Graham will be officiating at Thurman Funeral Home, 44 N Main St, Sparta, TN 38583.
Though her absence leaves an emptiness in the hearts of those who loved her, Sara Kathlene "Kathy" Hutson’s legacy endures through the kindness, fond memories, and love she shared. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
