Samuel Haston
May 1, 1928 — February 28, 2015
Samuel "Sam" Jefferson Haston, age 86, of Sparta, passed away February 28, 2015 at Vanderbilt Medical Center.
He grew up in Van Buren County, in the Cane Creek Community, was the youngest child born May 1,1928 to John J. Haston and Martha Evalee Gamble Haston. Mr.Haston served his country in the United States Army in WWII. Afterwards he was married to his sweetheart, Morette Jean Bennett Haston, August 11, 1952. He was a member of The Church of Christ.
Preceded in death by his parents; brother, James R. Haston; sisters, Margaret Haston Austin, Ama Lee Haston Rogers, Audrey P. Haston and Lois Haston Wilson; and one niece,Angela F. Haston.
Survivors include his loving wife, Morette Jean Haston, of Sparta; sons, Jeffrey L. Haston of Charlotte, MI and Randall E. Haston & wife Shirley of Spring Hill, TN; two grandsons, Christopher J. Haston of Nashville, TN and Matthew J. Haston of Lansing, MI; step- granddaughter, Rachel A. Batey of Columbia, TN.
ARRANGEMETS:
Funeral services will be at held Central Church of Christ, Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at 2 p.m., officiating will be Bro. Brian McCutchen. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery.
Family will receive friends Central at Church of Christ, Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at 10:00 am until time service.
