Ruby Fish

Ruby Joyce Fish, age 87, passed away August 6, 2017 at her home in  Sparta, TN.

She was born  May 10, 1930 in Big Creek, Pikeville, Kentucky  to Anthony Stepp and Lushie Fraley Stepp.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Erie Fish; Sons, Richard Erie Fish and James Larry Fish and six siblings.

Ruby is survived by her son, Michael (Mike) Stephen Fish (Cathy) of Woodbury, MN; daughters, Nancy Lee Campbell (Bill) of Oldenburg, IN; Catherine (Cathy) Ann Fish Harrington (Michael) of Jupiter, FL; Rosemary (Rose) Magdalene Fish Greene (Theodore) of Hermitage, TN; and Patricia (Patty)      Naomi Fish Bilyeu (Mike) of Sparta, TN; brother, Buddy Stepp and sister, Laverne York;15 grandchildren;8great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews cousins and friends,

Ruby  grew up in a large family and always wanted one of her own. In fact she wanted to have twelve children. She along with her husband of over forty years, James, nearly succeeded but stopped at seven. Ruby loved family and friends and everyone who knew her considered her to  be “mom. She always had a kind, encouraging word and a great sense of optimism about life. She also had a great sense of humor and wit. Ruby’s greatest  desire was to share the love of Jesus with as many people as she possibly could. She had an eternal mindset, focusing all of her energy on loving people and loving God. She will be greatly missed by many fortunate people who had the blessing of    knowing her.

Pallbearers: Mike Fish, Mike Bilyeu, Josh Bilyeu, James Fish, Stephen Otto, and Alden Carnahan.

ARRANGEMENTS

Funeral services will be held, Wednesday, August 9, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Officiating will be Bro.  Jerry Bullum and Bro. Doug Benningfield. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, August  8,  2017,  4:00 p.m. till 8:00 P.M.  at Thurman Funeral Home.
