Melvin Kirby

Melvin Leighton Kirby age 87, passed away Monday, May 19, 2014 at his home in Sparta.
He was born on May 11, 1927, in McMinnville, TN., to Milburn and Clellie Kirby.
Mr. Kirby served country in United States Navy during WWII, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Also he was a member of the Taylor's Providence, but attended Sparta First Baptist Church for nine years. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Joan Kirby; children, Lee Kirby and Nancy Fosdyck.
Mr. Kirby is survived by his son John Kirby and wife Lisa of Sparta; grandchildren, Josh Kirby, Amber Spears and Heather Kirby; great grandchildren, Matthew, Benjamin, Chris, Rebekah, Michael, Tucker, Lauren, Ian, Adrian, Cheyenne and Christa; and 23 great great grandchildren
ARRANGEMENTS
Funeral services will be held be Wednesday May 21, 2014 at Thurman Funeral Home at 12p.m. Officiating will be Bro. Everett Wilson, Interment will follow in the Taylor Providence Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday May 21, 2014 at Thurman Funeral Home at 10 am till time of service.
