E. Louise Bohannon
Louise passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and family on October 18, 2025 at The Life Care Center in Sparta Tennessee.
She was born on April 16, 1931. Most of her life was spent in Cookeville Tennessee where she lived on Stevens Street. When her mother passed, she moved to Sparta Tennessee, and lived there until she moved to Life Care Center. We appreciate the loving care they showed her as she spent her last days there. Her working career was composed of receiving a teaching degree from TN Tech, which enabled her to have a career in education early on. In addition, she worked at two hospitals, Cookeville Regional and White County Hospital, then at Emerson Controls which later became Mallory Controls. Beyond her professional achievements, she was a devoted church goer and member of The Sparta Free Will Baptist Church where she formed lifelong friendships. She found joy in painting, and often shared her artistic creations, bringing color into the lives of those around her. Louise also had a passion for playing piano, and memorized many beautiful gospel tunes from the church hymnals. Her love of beautiful tunes extended into her joy of listening to and painting songbirds (which she passed on to her nephew and niece).
She is survived by her nephew Gary Michael Bohannon, her niece Lois Kay Brashier (Bohannon) and husband Michael, Lois's daughter Shannon Phillips and husband Adam, their daughter MaeBelle, and a number of cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents Lewis D. Bohannon and Ethyl (Henry) Bohannon, and her brothers Clifton Bohannon, Frank Dewey Bohannon, and Haskel Curtis Bohannon and his wife Mary Alline (Smith) Bohannon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to The Bohannon Church would be greatly appreciated.
