Mr. Lloyd "Tooney" Wayne Carter, age 93, of Sparta, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Life Care Center in Sparta, TN.
Mr. Carter was born in Sparta, Tennessee on February 16, 1924 to William L. Carter and Hattie Ann Dickerson Carter.
Preceded in death by his parents; wife of 67 years, Gladys Brown Carter, granddaughter, Courtney Spiron; brothers, Wille, Argo, Elmore, Jesse Frank, Henry Thomas and J.W. Carter; and sister, Fannie Lou Stone.
Survivors include daughters, Carolyn Kimsey and husband, Barry of Whitwell, TN and Margaret Spiron and husband, Charles of Goldsboro, North Carolina; sisters, Anna Ruth Holman and Vanda Lee Sullivan. Five grandchildren, Ashely Bolduc and husband Jason, Michelle Spiron, Chip Spiron and wife Vanessa, Amanda Horrell and husband Wilson, and Joshua Kimsey and wife Lisa. Six great-grandchildren, Allison, Charlie, Jameson, Hailey, Andie Kate and Grayson. Also several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMETS: Funeral services will be held at Thurman Funeral Home, Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 3:00 p.m., Officiating will be Bro. Butch Bess. Interment will be in the Saylors Cemetery. Family will receive friends at Thurman Funeral Home, Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. until time of service.
