Laura Webb

Laura Annie Officer Webb, age 82, was a resident of Sparta, Passed away Thursday, June 2, 2016 at St. Thomas - Highland Medical Center in Sparta. She was born September 21, 1933 to Beecher and Dorothy Gardenhire Officer in Sparta,Tennessee. She is preceded in death by her parents; as well as her brother, Beecher Officer, Jr., sister, Betty Frances Officer Strode, and her grandson, Joshua Thomas Webb.

She attended Wallace Smith School in Sparta, from the first through the eight grade and Darwin High School in Cookeville from the ninth through the twelfth grade.

She was a member of Kynett United Methodist Church, and attended until her health made it difficult for her to do so.

Laura-Annie love to talk to everybody. She never met a stranger and enjoyed sitting on her porch and striking up conversation with passersby. She was friends with everybody she met.

She also loved flowers and joyfully spent a lot of her time working with her flowers.

One of her greatest loves was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They brought much joy to her heart and she sid the same for them.

She leaves by to mourn her passing her loving daughters, Dorothy Cotton Cullom (Charles) and Emmaline Webb; brother, William Vance (Elythleen); sister, Mary Dorothy Officer; three grandchildren, five great - grandchildren, her former husband and father of her daughter, Emmaline, James Thomas Webb, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS

Funeral services will be at Thurman Funeral Home, Sunday, June 5, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Franklin officiating, interment will follow at Davis Cemetery.

Visitation will be at Thurman Funeral Home, Sunday, June 5, 2016 from 11:00 A.M. till 2:00 P.M.
