Kenneth Dabbs
August 19, 1927 — March 16, 2016
Mr. Kenneth M. Dabbs , 88 of Sparta, TN. Passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
He is preceded in death by his parents William Henry Dabbs and Nina P. (Chaffin) Dabbs; his wife Betty Jean Dabbs; siblings, Nora Oneda Lambreght Sargent, Rozelle Ruth Zabel and Billy Carl Dabbs.
Some of Mr. Dabbs accomplishments were He was a member of Central Church of Christ and served as Elder. He was a Veteran of WWII with rank Seaman 1st Class, U.S. Navy, and served on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Shangri-La., CV-38 He was retired from Cummins Corporation (Fleetguard), Cookeville, TN.
He is survived by his loving children, Glenda Solomon and husband Edward of Morrison, TN, Diana Gilbert and husband Thomas of Warren, MI, Kenneth Dabbs, Darrel Dabbs and wife Gail, Dale Dabbs and wife Brenda all of Sparta; sister, Mildred Lois Pistole; 9 grandchildren; Hope, David, Nathan, Roger, Kenny, Kristi, April, Jason and Stephen; 13 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS
Funeral services will be at Thurman Funeral Home, Monday, March 21, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. with Bro. Brian McCutchen, Bro. Roy Whited and Dr. Alan Cooper officiating, interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. Pallbearers: Norman Bean, Alex Bean, Tim Bean, Kenny Dabbs, Jason Dabbs, Steven Dabbs, Roger Dabbs, Ethan James and Evan James.
Visitation will be at Thurman Funeral Home, Sunday, March 20, 2016 at 4:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M.
