Joyce Kirby

Joyce Wilson Kirby, 79, of Sparta, passed away Friday, October 9, 2026, at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Joyce was born on August 8, 1947, in White County, Tennessee, to the late Joe Paul Wilson and Arlene Wilson. She worked for many years as a seamstress at Red Kap.

She is survived by her husband, Danny Ray Kirby; sons, Joe Bob Kirby (Kristie) of Algood and Jesse Van Kirby (Shaunna) of Hixton, Wisconsin; sisters, Mary Sparks (Carl) and Kathy Guy (David); brother, James Wilson (Jennifer); grandchildren, Tyler Kirby, Kayla Kirby, Clay Kirby, Maeloree Ray, Colton Kirby, Ashley Weaver, and Jimmy Weaver; great-grandchildren, Annalease Kirby, Ryleigh Williams, Jalynn Williams, Collin Williams, Joseline Haney, Danny Ray, Gracie Ray, and Kody Ray; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Paul and Arlene Wilson; sisters, Frances Guy, Sue Dunham, and Jean Sparks; and brothers, Bobby Wilson and Roger Wilson.

Funeral services will be held Monday October 12, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. service starting at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Thurman Funeral Home with Bro. Alan Schieber officiating. Burial will follow in Frasiers Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday October 11, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home.
