Joyce Maxine Hudgens Crosslin Age 81
Joyce Maxine Hudgens Crosslin went home to the Lord on Monday, February 17, 2014.
Born in White County on January 29, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Frank Hudgens and Thelma Stewart Hudgens. Joyce married Robert Lynn Crosslin on July 15, 1950.
She was a member of Sparta First United Methodist Church and later attended Central Church of Christ. Mrs. Crosslin took great pride in the fact that she worked for Kroger Company for 40 years rising from checker in the Sparta store to front-end manager in Cookeville. She was an avid reader and fiercely loved her family.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother (Frank and Thelma Hudgens), her father-in-law and mother-in-law (R.L. and Louverna Crosslin), her grandson (James Ryan Dunham), and her son-in-law (Jack Stein). Mrs. Crosslin is survived by her husband (Robert Lynn Crosslin), daughter and son-in-law (Deborah Crosslin Dunham and Ronnie Dunham of McMinnville), daughter (Becky Crosslin Stein of Lawrenceville, Georgia), and grandson (Scott Dunham of Nashville).
Visitation will be at Central Church of Christ in Sparta, Tennessee, on Thursday, February 20 from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. with funeral also at Central Church of Christ on Friday, February 21 at 3:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's foundation, White County Public Library, Sparta First United Methodist Church, or Sparta Central Church of Christ.
