James (Jimmy) Johnson Jr.

James “Jimmy-J” Harold Johnson Jr. age 57 of Sparta, transitioned to his forever home, June 5, 2018.

A celebration of life for the kindest and sweetest man we have ever known!

Jimmy was born December 21, 1960 in Sparta, TN to James and Betty (Davis) Johnson.

He is preceded in death by his father James Harold Johnson, Sr. and his precious wife, Stephanie Schiotis Johnson, March 10, 2015.

Followed by his precious Son, James  Harold Johnson III, June 7, 2018.

He is survived by his mother, (Betty Davis) Johnson; Daughter, Jessica Johnson Chism and husband Benjamin, grandson, Ryder and granddaughter Eleanor. granddaughters Alaina and Paisleigh; Brother, Joseph and sister-in-law Eileen, Sister Alice Crabtree and brother-in-law Robert Crabtree.
Sister, B.K. Johnson and fiancé Jeff Maugeri. Nephews, Aaron Johnson, Brian Bolster and Nick Anderson. Nieces, Vanessa Blalock, Abigail Sherrell, Olivia Johnson, Amber Tosado, Brittney Johnson, Amanda Selby, and Lacy Mapes. Several great nephews and nieces, cousins and friends all over the United States.

Jimmy was loved by everyone he encountered. He never knew a stranger. He recently lost his sweet Stefy and was never “home” anywhere since she left, until now. He loved his children and grandchildren more than anything in this world. He loved the word of God and shared it everywhere he roamed. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was a beloved Babe Ruth coach and Sparta youth basketball coach to many boys and girls in Sparta and cherished those times. He loved everyone that he met and always wanted to help them in any way, even if it meant his last dollar or the shirt off his back.

Graveside service to be held Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Plainview Cemetery in the Cassville community.

Interment to follow at Plainview Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, an account is set up at 1st National Bank in Sparta, TN under the name Alice Crabtree for donations to help the family with expenses. We love you all and thank you for being here with us.
