Mrs. Gertie C. Williams, age 90, of Rock Island, passed away at her residence, Monday, January 9, 2012 .
Mrs. Williams was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in McMinnville, TN.
She was born July 4, 1921, in White County, Tennessee to Charlie M. Underwood and Zona Alton Taylor Underwood.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lawerence Henry Williams,children, Louzona Key, Joyce Ann Key, Herbert Clay Conley Jr. and Charlie Crocket Conley, brothers, Thomas Underwood and C.M. Underwood.
Survivors include daughter, Marie Buckner and husband Jack Sr. of Rock Island; daughter in law, Martha Conley of McMinnville; sister, Naomi McCloud of Algood; brother, Thaddeus Underwood of Algood; 23 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren and 51 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.Also a very special nurse,Roxanne Batey.
Family will receive friends Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Thurman Funeral Home from 4:00 P.M till 8:00 P.M. Funeral service will be held Friday, January 13, 2012, at 1:00 P.M. at Thurman Funeral Home, with Bro. David Lee England. Burial will follow in Old Blue Spring Cemetery.
