Frances Irene Conley

Frances Irene Conley, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2026, in Tennessee, at the age of 82. Born on November 16, 1943, in Delaware, Frances truly lived a life enriched by her love for family, nature, and the simple joys that defined her journey.

Frances was the cherished daughter of the late Arthur and Elsie DeBolt. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Chester L.V. Conley, with whom she shared countless adventures and fond memories, especially their time spent fishing together—a testament to the companionship and devotion they both cherished.

Frances’s unwavering love and care leave a lasting legacy in her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her loving daughter, Carole Conley, and her sons, Virgil Conley and Robert Conley. Her nurturing spirit carries on through her grandchildren: Kayla (Robert Young) Conley, Bobby Hargis, Brandon Conley, Jade Ellen Conley, and Myra Elliott; great great grandchildren, Jayden Matthew Snyder, Jezzlynn Neveah Young, Jaxx Oakley Young. Frances was also a devoted sister to Betty Conley and sister-in-law to Clarence Conley.

Throughout her life, Frances found immense joy in being outdoors and was known for her passion for trail riding and working with horses, particularly alongside her granddaughter. The bond forged through these shared rides was one of deep affection, passing down a love for horses and adventure to the next generation. The time she spent fishing with her late husband remains a cherished memory, a symbol of their enduring partnership. She also loved her road trips with her niece Sheila Barnwell.

Frances also delighted in festive traditions, especially her visits to Opryland Hotel to admire the Christmas lights. These trips highlighted her appreciation for beauty, family togetherness, and celebration. She found tranquility in the Smoky Mountains, a place close to her heart, reflecting her reverence for nature’s wonders.

Family and friends are invited to honor Frances’s life on Saturday, August 22, 2026. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Thurman Funeral Home, 44 N Main St, Sparta, TN. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM at the same location. Interment will take place at Boiling Springs Cemetery, 6293 Burgess Falls Rd, Baxter, TN.

Frances Irene Conley’s strength, warmth, and steadfast love will continue to inspire and uplift all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.
