Ezra Starnes
April 2, 1922 — September 30, 2012
Ezra Clinton Starnes, age 90 of Sparta, TN, passed away September 30, 2012 at his residence. He was born April 2, 1922, in Kingsport, Tennessee. He was the son of Herbert Clinton Starnes and Lizzie Ann Carter Starnes.
Mr. Starnes served his country in United States Army in World Ward II. He was preceded in death by parents; several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by wife, Christene Rose Starnes of Sparta; children, Linda (Matthew) Weis of Poquoson, VA, Gary Wayne Starnes of LaCrosse, WI and Anita (Jack) Cline of Schaumburg, IL; brother, Robert Ellis Starnes of Chicago, IL; sister, Edith (George) Williams of Kinper, KY; seven grandchildren, Paula Marie Bennett, James Kevin Weis, Jeremy Starnes, Lisa Starnes, Ashley Starnes, Tracy Anne Collins and Heather Renee Collins;
Arrangements:
Family will receive friends at the Thurman Funeral Home, Monday, October 1, 2012 at 5:00 pm till 8:00 pm. Also Thurman Funeral Home, Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 5:00 pm till 8:00 pm.- Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at 8:00 a.m., at Gum Springs Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., at Gum Springs Baptist Church, officiating Bro. Derek McCosh.
Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery.
