Elizabeth Jeanetta Rouse, age 88, transitioned from this earthly life on November 6, 2021 at the Sparta Life Care Center.
The oldest of eight children, Elizabeth was born October 5, 1933 to the late James and Sara Leftwich in Sparta, TN.
Elizabeth accepted Christ in her early 20’s and became a member of the Church of Christ where she and her late husband Charles remained faithful servants throughout their lives. She had a true servant’s heart, devoted to caring for those in need, mentoring young women and children and spreading the Word of God. Elizabeth was a gracious hostess who loved sharing her beautiful home where her flower garden was the centerpiece. To know her is to know how much she loved flowers and working in her garden.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Charles Foster Rouse; her parents, James and Sara Leftwich; siblings, Jeff Leftwich, Joyce (Sammy Sr.) Dibrell, Walter Thomas “Tommy”, Johnny Edward, and Richard Don Leftwich.
She is survived by siblings; James Clay (Susie) Sr. and Glenn Dale (Connie) Leftwich of Sparta; sisters-in-law, Wenda Leftwich and Pamela Lewis both of Sparta, Marjorie (BabySister) Leftwich of Evansville, IN and Linda Sue McReynolds of Nashville,TN; a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews, church family and dear friends.
She will be missed.
