Calvin Raper

Calvin Raper, 83, went home to the Lord on April 13, 2016. He was born in Doyle on November 6, 1932.
Calvin loved farming and was a long time member of Bon Air Methodist church.
He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce Raper, parents, Will Raper and Mamie Lyles Raper, brothers Fred, J.L., Lee, Fate, Noah, Lankford, Junior, and sisters Mary, Bretha, Geneva, and Callie.
Survivors include one sister, Katherine Cooley; son William (Janice) Raper; Shantaye Cannon; grand children, Kalarene (Will) Svensson , Kailoni (Clifton) Lawson, John (LaTia) Raper, Douglas Raper, Elizabeth McCurry, Kayla (Brady) Wright, Jake Bowman; great grandchildren Journee and Fait Svensson, Hayden Stewart, Colton Lawson, and Brian and Lilly Wright; and many loved nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be 11a.m. April 18, 2016, at Thurman Funeral Home, with burial in Skurlock Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:30-8:30 p.m., April 17, 2016, at the funeral home.
Pall bearers include Chuck Bumbalough, Bennie Raper, Ernie Raper, Danny Seals, John Raper, Doug Raper, Jake Bowman, Clifton Lawson, and Will Svensson.
