Brenda Lee Villard

Brenda Lee Villard, née McCord, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026, in Sparta, Tennessee, at the age of 82. Born on October 7, 1943, in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Brenda’s life was defined by unwavering love for her family, steadfast kindness, and a remarkable devotion to those she cherished.

Brenda was the beloved daughter of the late Leslie Jewell McCord and Leola Grace McCord. She grew up in a loving family alongside her sisters, the late Mildred McCord Cavanah, the late Sandra McCord White, and her surviving sister, Kimberly McCord Comperry. From an early age, Brenda’s gentle spirit and vibrant personality brightened every room she entered.

Brenda was united in marriage to Roy Roger Villard, her devoted husband, who preceded her in death. Together they built a life grounded in warmth, laughter, and shared dreams. Brenda’s enduring partnership with Roy was a testament to the strength of their love and the foundation for the beautiful family they raised together.

She is lovingly remembered by her children: her son, Vince Villard, and daughter-in-law Beverly Villard, who provided her with pride and comfort; and her son-in-law, Johnny Burchett, who remained a supportive pillar after the passing of Brenda’s much-missed daughter, Valerie Lee Villard Burchett. The memory of Valerie lives on in the hearts of all who loved Brenda, honored in the stories told and the traditions carried forward.

Brenda’s heart overflowed with joy for her grandchildren: Jordan Lee Burchett Gross and husband Nick, Madison Noel Burchett, Jesse Rae Villard and wife Grace, Gracie Lynn Villard and fiance Tristan Houston and Mallie Kate, each of whom brought immeasurable happiness to her life. Brenda shared a special bond with each grandchild, treasuring moments both big and small. She also held dear numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins whose presence further enriched her life.

As a sister, mother, grandmother, and friend, Brenda touched countless lives with her gentle words, thoughtful deeds, and quiet strength. She celebrated her family’s achievements and provided comfort and support in times of need. Her home was a gathering place for laughter, wisdom, and unconditional love—a legacy which will continue through the generations she leaves behind.

A graveside service to honor Brenda’s life will be held at Plainview Cemetery in Cassville, Tennessee, on Wednesday, August 5, 2026. The service will begin at 1:00 PM. All who knew Brenda, loved her, and wish to pay their respects are warmly invited to join in remembrance.

Brenda Lee Villard’s presence will be deeply missed, but her loving spirit will remain in the tender memories and enduring bonds she created during her life. Her legacy is woven into the hearts of her family and friends, who will forever cherish the warmth, kindness, and love she so generously shared.
