Brenda Pauline Scott, age 63, former owner of Thurman Funeral Home, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at her home in Bon Air Community.
She was born January 9, 1950 to Everette Edmonds and Pauline Samanthia Phillips Edmonds in Lansdale, PA.
Brenda's accomplishments are as follows Sunday School Teacher, Children Worker, Vacation Bible School Director, Former President Stitch, Share and Sew Quilt Club, Former President of Sparta Women Club, Tennessee State Board of Women Club, Director of Summer Reading Club of White County Library, Former President of American Legion Auxiliary, Member of Sparta Lions Club, "Dot The Can" of Sparta White County Recycle Program and Served on The Board of Directors for Christmas in April.
She was preceded in death by her father Everett Edmonds; sister, Sara Edmonds; brother Jerry Everette Edmonds and nephew, Michael Edmonds.
Survivors include husband, James Wilburn Scott; sons and daughter in law; Jeffery Lynn Scott of Sparta and Jason Lee Scott and wife Becky of Mowbrey Community; mother, Pauline Phillips Edmonds; brother, James "Jim" Russell Edmonds and wife Rhonda all of Sparta; sister, Patricia Ann Edmonds of Miami, FL; sister in law, Ruth Edmonds of Sparta; grandsons, Alex Scott, Josh Reed and Matthew Reed.
ARRANGEMENTS
Funeral services will be at East Sparta Church of God, Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 1:00 pm. Officiating will be Bro. Gary Wayne Scott, Bro. Robbie Crisp and Bro. Jerry Barnwell.
Honorary Pallbearers Ronnie and Reedi Brock, Mike and Darlene Goddard, Tom and Kathy Gilliam, Paul and Judy Williams, Jim and Brenda Simmons, Ronnie and Terri Brock, Bill and Anita Smith, Randall and Misty Gardner and Chuck Bumbalough.
Pallbearers Alex Scott, Josh Reed, Matthew Reed, Ryan Edmonds, Nathan Edmonds, Joe Price, Rod Williams, Ryan Williams and Eric Steele.
Interment will follow in the Smith Chapel Cemetery.
Family will receive friends at East Sparta Church of God, Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 12:00 pm till time of service on Wednesday.
