Brenda "Mama B" Joyce Bennett, beloved mother, cherished friend, and devoted family member, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2026, in McMinnville. She was born on September 8, 1962, in Japan, and throughout her life, she touched the hearts of all who knew her.

Brenda's life was one marked by love, resilience, and dedication to those closest to her. She is remembered with deep affection by her children, Shayla (Chelsey Northcutt) Medley and Shane (CeCe)  Medley, who carry forth her spirit and values. Brenda's warmth, compassion, and unwavering support for her family created a lasting foundation upon which her loved ones continue to stand.

She leaves behind a circle of friends and family whose lives she deeply enriched. Brenda is survived by her husband, Dan Skelton, best friend Karen "Boo" Bowdoin; her step-father, Roger Lynn Johnson; her nephews Roger Martin and Ryan Martin; as well as Brett Martin, Cameron Martin, and Alea Martin. Each of them holds fond memories of Brenda's kindness and her unique ability to bring people together in times of both joy and challenge.

Brenda's life was also shaped by the enduring bonds of her family legacy. She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin LeRoy Bennett; her mother, Barbara Jean Paige Johnson; her sister, Rhonda Lee Martin; her grandparents Elmer and Velma Bennett, and Henry and Wilsie Paige. The stories and values imparted by these cherished family members became an important part of Brenda's own journey, and she honored their memory every day through the love and care she extended to others.

Friends and family are invited to gather and remember Brenda at a viewing on July 3, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Thurman Funeral Home, 44 N Main St, Sparta, TN. The funeral service will follow immediately after at 2:00 PM at the same location. Tasha Hill will be Officiating. Brenda will be laid to rest at Mt Zion Cemetery, 1670 Mt Zion Rd, McMinnville, TN.

Brenda Joyce Bennett will be lovingly remembered for her gentle spirit, her steadfast loyalty to those she held dear, and her enduring legacy of love and kindness. Her memory will forever inspire all who had the privilege to know her.
