Ben Ellis Swindell, age 70, was born on May 11, 1939, in Sparta, TN., to Robert Lee Swindell, Sr. and Lassie Thomas Swindell . He was the owner of Swindell's Decorator Supply here in Sparta. He passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at his residence in Sparta, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Glenda Copeland. Mr. Swindell is survived by his wife of 49 years Zelda Swindell of Sparta,one daughter, Kellye Ellisa Swindell Boylan and her husband Robert, of Milton, TN.; one brother, Robert Lee Swindell, Jr. and his wife Betsy of Sparta, TN. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Meredith Ellise Boylan, Olivia Lee Boylan, and Emma Caroline Boylan as well as several nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Thurman Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, July 12, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. Interment will be in the Highland Cemetery in Sparta. Bro. Carl Sims will officiate.
