Angelia Evans

Angelia Renee Evans was born February 23, 1953 in Sparta, T.N. to the late A.C. Cummings and Arcanna Stewart Evans. She departed this life on December 10, 2017. She was Preceded in death by Grandmother’s, Arcola Stewart and Irene Cummings; brother, Avery Evans; and sisters, Charlotte Buckner and Faye Holland.

Angie was well liked by everyone and could always make you laugh. She was a member of the 1971 girls basketball team where she was named Miss Basketball. Angie was also an avid Cleveland Cavilars fan. She worked many years at the YMCA and Wagner Electric. She was also a Jr. Pro basketball coach. She was baptized into The Church of Christ on July 12, 1966.

She leaves to cherish her memories, 2 daughters, Tracy (Mike) Evans, Fatima Evans (Richard) and 1 son, Chad (Christy) Tubbs, all from Sparta; 2 brothers, Bruce Evans, and Chris (Jackie) Miller, both from Sparta; Special friend/partner, Donald King of Sparta; 7 grandchildren, Malik of Franklin, TN, Destiny of Cookeville, TN, Makendra, Dakota, Ashland, Reonna, and Ayden all of Sparta; Nieces and Nephews, Carol (Glenn) Bonner, Zachary Buckner of Cookeville, TN, James Evans, Rachael Evans of Smithville, TN, Lyndsay Evans, and Adam Evans of Michigan. She also leaves to mourn numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Special cousin Johnnie E. Johnson of Sparta. Special life-long friend, Dorothy Cullom of Sparta, and all of her friends and neighbors at Elmwood Apartments.

The family will receive friends at Thurman Funeral Home on Saturday, December 16th, 2017 from 11am-2pm.

Funeral services will be at Thurman Funeral Home, Saturday, December 16th, 2017, at 2 pm. Interment will follow Davis Cemetery.
